Children's Ministry

Discover the wide variety of ministries for children, from infants through sixth grade.

The Children’s Ministry of Community Evangelical Free  Church of Mahomet exists to glorify God through evangelizing children, encouraging parents, and edifying servants so that the gospel may be spread among our children, families may be supported, and the church may be strengthened.

  • What We Value in all our Children's Ministry Areas

    God's Love

The primary objective of our Children's Ministry is to ensure your child gains a clear understanding of God’s love for him or her and to begin to experience his presence in their lives. A variety of creative, engaging Bible stories and related activities are provided to help your child understand they are loved by God.

    A Safe Environment

Our volunteers are carefully screened via background checks. We also make sure that your child’s name badge is matched to your parent badge before they can be released from their classroom.

    Age-Appropriate Music, Activities, & Stories

The primary objective of Kid's Church is to ensure your child gains a clear understanding of God’s love for him or her and to begin to experience His presence in their lives. Through the Gospel Project we hope to help your child understand they are loved by God and that Christ came for them.

  • A Place to Learn and Grow!

Kids' church is where the hearts of kids connect with the heart of Jesus through His Word.

Each Sunday children experience safe, age-appropriate classes where God’s Word is taught in a creative and relevant way through The Gospel Project. Our desire is for kids to know God loves them, has provided a path for relationship through Jesus, and has sent the Holy Spirit to empower them.

  • Kid's Church Check-In

Is it your first time here?

We will be here to greet your family, and guide you through the registration process so that after your first visit its simply, "click and print".  We will ask you for the following information: child’s name, parent/guardian’s name, and any special instructions for your child (allergies, etc.).

Both you and your child will receive stickers with a corresponding security number. Your child will need to wear the name tag while in Kid's Church and you will keep the corresponding parent tag. The parent tag is your identification to enter the children’s area and for your child to be released to you after the service.

For the safety of your child, only parents, guardians, or adult family members are permitted to pick up a child from their classroom. Your parent badge will be matched with your child’s name badge by authorized Kid's Church personnel just prior to releasing your child to you.

  • We Use The Gospel Project for All Ages

66 books. Dozens of authors. A holy canon thousands of years in the making. Every word, every verse, bears His testimony. Of the Holy Messiah. Jesus Christ. Eternal King.

The Gospel Project® is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for Kids, Students, and Adults that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ. Over the course of three years, participants will journey from Genesis to Revelation and discover how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today, compelling them to join the mission of God.

All levels of our Christian Education program have an age appropriate Gospel Project class.

  • After Church.

Did you know that the best part of church happens when you get home?

Ask your kids about the key verse or the "Big Idea" they learned that day. Nothing pleases us more than to hear your children can share with you what they are learning of God and His Word!

  • AWANA Clubs, Sunday Nights 6:00-7:45pm

Awana reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Jesus.Kids and students represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. Awana reaches kids where they are and walks alongside them in their faith journey. Those kids who come to faith at an early age discover God’s purpose for their lives and hope for the future.

Awana at CEFCM runs September 2016 through May 2017, and has classes available for Pre-K through High School. The cost to attend Awana for the year is $25 per child.
