prayer  ministry

The purpose of the Prayer Ministry is to work toward Community Evangelical Free Church of Mahomet truly becoming a “House of Prayer,” (Luke 19:46) with all ministries, classes, outreaches, and activities birthed in and absolutely saturated with prayer. We pray because we desire to be disciples of Jesus, and disciples of Jesus pray because Jesus Himself prayed. In some sense, prayer is as natural as breathing to the Christian. In another, we always have something to learn

  • Prayer Chain

Needs of the congregation are shared via the email prayer chain as well as on the prayer insert available on Sundays with the bulletin.

  • Sunday Morning Prayer

    DO YOU NEED PRAYER?

Come up during communion, or after service, so that we can pray for you as you go through whatever it is you are going through. We want to pray for you.

  • All-Church Prayer Gatherings

Our desire to grow in individual and corporate prayer is manifested in several ways that are always growing and changing. We have hosted mini prayer retreats and training and are planning more in the future. Quarterly All-Church Prayer Meetings focus on a single topic such as evangelism or families. Special prayer initiatives such as praying at Planned Parenthood during 40 Days for Life or praying for schools and students at the start of the school year occur often throughout the year. Several times per year we have a special time of corporate prayer during the Sunday service. We are continually seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance as we desire to deepen and broaden our dependence on God through prayer. Please check the church calendar often for upcoming prayer events.
